Rosarte Children’s Choir was founded in 2008 by the choir conductor Rosie Mastrosavva. Rosie Mastrosavva, along with Rosarte’s members, under the name of “Children’s Choir of Municipality of Athens”, has won the golden medal at the 5th Choir Olympics (1st Category-Children’s Choirs), which took place in Graz during the summer of 2008.
The Choir is active in Greece and abroad and has participated in the Greek National Opera’s productions such as “Tannhauser” by R. Wagner (Athens Megaron Concert Hall, “Alexandra Triandi” Hall, January 2009) and the “Paliacci” by R. Leoncavallo (Olympia Theatre, “Maria Callas” Hall, March 2009/Herodion theatre 2011),”Carmen” by G. Bizet (2010&2011), ”Tosca” by G. Puccini (2011 & 2012).
Rosarte Children’s Choir has cooperated with many symphony orchestras, such as the Athens State Orchestra, the Greek Radio Orchestra (ERT), the Greek National Opera Orchestra, the Camerata of the Athens Concert hall, the City of Athens Symphony Orchestra, the Camerata Junior, and has performed a great deal of concerts under the direction of Conductors such as L. Karytinos, A. Βaltas, M. Michaelides, B. Fidetzis, N. Tsouchlos, A. Myrat, Ph. Oguenne, E. Boudouris among others.
The Choir participated in the opening ceremony of the Athens Special Olympics 2010 as well as in The Olympic flame lighting ceremony for London Olympics 2012.
