German conductor, Oliver Weder studied at the Frankfurt Music Academy and he was the first artist from western Germany to be admitted at the St Petersburg State Conservatory. He has been Maestro («Kapellmeister») of the State Opera and Ballet Theatre of Perm (Russia), Music Director and conductor of the Rimsky-Korsakov’ State Opera and Ballet Theatre of the St Petersburg Conservatory, Valery Gergejev’s permanent assistance at the Mariinsky Theatre of St Petersburg and director for the german repertoire of the theatre. He has worked many times with Hartmut Haenchen at the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and the Nederlandse Opera Amsterdam. Since 1997, he is Chief Conductor of the Thüringen Symphony Orchestra Saalfeld-Rudolstadt and Artistic Director of the historical Rudolstadt Theatre. He works with the music academies of Weimar and Mainz and he is guest assistant professor at the music academies of Frankfurt and Essen.
